TOOLBOX 4.3
The Walsh Gallegos Toolbox 4.3 Workshop provides the next level of practical strategies for dealing with disruptive, dangerous or violent students in compliance with Special Education laws.
This one day interactive workshop provides a framework and common vocabulary to better equip school personnel to deal with difficult situations. The tools in the Toolbox include the legal parameters for short term removals, long term changes of placement, and the special rules for “special circumstances.” Throughout the training, there is an emphasis on crafting and implementing effective behavior plans so as to encourage
improved student behavior. In the training, the tools are presented in a lively and interactive format and then the participants practice using the tools through hypothetical cases.
Toolbox 4.3 Workshop is designed to simplify a complex area of the law so that educators can serve each child appropriately, while maintaining a safe and orderly campus. Participants review court cases that illustrate how the tools work in practice. The Toolbox 4.3 book provides sample language for codes of conduct, behavior plans and forms to document the decisions made by campus administrators and IEP Teams. The emphasis is on practical application with plenty of time for Q and A. Participants will go home better prepared to deal with difficult situations.
