Description:
This professional learning opportunity is designed to support K–12 Computer Science educators across New Mexico. This two-day in-person workshop will build a shared understanding of the New Mexico Computer Science Standards 2026, the five concepts, four pillars, and seven dispositions that organize the standards, and provide structured time to translate one standard into a real classroom activity. High quality facilitation will cover the following:

  • Build a working understanding of the five concepts, four pillars, and seven dispositions in the revised standards
  • Practice translating a standard into a classroom-ready activity through guided modeling and independent design time
  • Prepare for a year-long implementation cycle through the program’s Canvas course, including monthly check-ins and ongoing support through April
  • The sessions will take place in Albuquerque on September 8–9, 2026, with learning each day from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Mileage and lodging reimbursements are available for participants traveling more than 60 miles one way.

**This convening is meant for K–12 Computer Science teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators from school and district teams across New Mexico.**
