Who Should Attend
The symposium is open to school food professionals, including school food leadership, cafeteria managers, and frontline cafeteria staff. Our goal is for this event to operate in a train-the-trainer model– so we encourage you to send key staff who play a role in staff training and can help implement the training and recipes in your school cafeterias. We encourage each district to send at least one participant to be part of this opportunity. Larger districts can send up to 5 staff members.
Train-the-Trainer Approach
The symposium is designed as a train-the-trainer experience. Each attendee will receive a set of training modules and scratch-cooked recipes ready for use in your cafeteria. We ask attendees to commit to implementing at least one of these trainings or recipes back in their district during the school year—helping to multiply the impact of the symposium across New Mexico.
We're bringing local chefs and school cafeteria staff together to cook side-by-side to swap techniques, share stories, and dream up fresh, scratch-cooked meals rooted in local flavors.
New Mexico is ahead of the curve- we're building a new future for school food, one inspired recipe at a time. Together, we'll celebrate the creativity and care behind school food and craft dishes that nourish students with meals that are as delicious as they are nutritious.
