Amber Bright loves being an educator and is currently serving as a school principal, bringing her
passion for learning and innovation into every aspect of school leadership. She has taught and
led in several states, including Texas, New Mexico, and Alaska, gaining a wide range of
experiences that shape her student-centered approach.
In 2012, Bright was one of only five teachers selected to experience microgravity, an opportunity
that reflects her commitment to immersive, real-world learning. Her background includes
organizing memorable field trips to Denali National Park and Bandelier National Monument, as
well as inviting NASA scientists into classrooms to speak and inspire students.
Bright is also the author of When All Else Fails: Reasons Why I Stay in the Classroom and How
You Can Find Your Why, a book that reflects her deep belief in purpose-driven education and
supporting educators through the challenges of the profession.
She has been recognized for her impact on students and staff, earning Elementary Teacher of
the Year honors in the Gregory-Portland Independent School District (2014–2015) and the
Bastrop Independent School District (2020–2021). Bright has facilitated numerous professional
development sessions focused on technology integration, including presentations at the ASTE
Conference in Alaska, and was voted by colleagues as the staff member most likely to innovate
in the classroom.

and continues to seek “the magic” that helps students, teachers, and schools thrive
